Fiona Zuzartee's First Event as Miss Malaysia-Indian Global '08

Fiona's first event as Miss Malaysia-Indian Global 2008 was held just one week after her pageant win. As the new Charity Ambassador for the Seri Pacific Hotel, Kuala Lumpur she was the VIP for the hotel's Charter Celebration & Charity Banquet.

The event, organized and hosted by the hotel, celebrated the installation of Rotary members of the ATC college in KL and doubled up as a charity event where Fiona, the Rotary president and Mr. Jean Wasser, the GM of Seri Pacific, handed out Aidilfitri ang-pows and goodie bags to children from a Home (I'll let you know which Home when I find out).

Fiona got all worked up because the agenda said that the Agong (yeah, Agong as in the King, not a gong which you bang with a hitter thing on Chinese New Year) was going to attend the event AND she was going to have to sit at the same dinner table as him AND she had to give a speech.

So the night before the event, I wrote out a nice short speech for her and sent her packing.

Fiona debriefed me after the event:
  1. The Agong didn't attend after all (much to her relief. She was really nervous about it)
  2. She gave her speech off the cuff instead of reading what I wrote (what a waste of my brain cells and hand-writing energy, but I'm sure she did fine)
  3. She received three HUGE bouquets of bright yellow flowers. They're still sitting in the house. Hay fever, anyone?
Check out the pics (I'm trying to get nicer ones):

I think the "hitter thing" is called a mallet ;-P

Ah, of course! A mallet! Thank you.

Easily confused with a mullet, the gruesome hairstyle of the early 90s found on famous heads such as MacGyver.
